Why buy natural bug spray?

Besides keeping the mosquitoes away…

It is nice knowing exactly what you are putting on your skin. Natural bug sprays and insect repellents are the preferred option if you want to minimize the amount of chemicals you and your family are exposed to. There is an array of essential oils available that have innate mosquito, flea, tick, and fly repelling properties. My Bug Spray will repel bugs for 3 hours.

Here is a customer product review posted on facebook:
“Just wanted to let you know that we are loving your natural bug spray. We use on our dog and haven’t found a tick on her since we started using it. The spray also keeps her coat super clean. She is a white shepherd and your spray keeps her white coat bright…an added plus! Thank you! ” SM- Brigantine

What is the science behind the ingredients?

I put together ingredients that not only repel those nasty bugs, but also has a pleasant smell.

Studies have shown that Peppermint Essential Oil can disrupt the Larval Cycle.  Peppermint works like larvicidal, an insecticide that kills larval pests.

Eucalyptus works best against mosquitoes, and ticks.

Lemon works best against fleas, mosquitoes, and ticks.

Cinnamon and Rosemary Oil are known to work the best against mosquitoes.

Lemongrass helps repel Mosquitoes, Ticks, and Fleas.

Apple Cider Vinegar and White Vinegar for Green Flies, Horse Flies, and Black Flies.

Luv it . Great scent !! Works great ! Better than any other natural deordrant I’ve tried ❤️
Can you love a deodorant? YES!
I have been using this for several months, and had the unfortunate circumstance of running out while awaiting my next order. It was a disaster. I had to use a store deodorant, and I developed a horrible rash and painful lumps on the skin and under the skin, It nearly made me see a doctor, but when I began using this again it all cleared up! Obviously the ingredients in the store deodorants are not good for us. This deodorant also works very well at controlling any odor, even that “nervous” odor. I’m very pleased with it, as well as all of the other products I’ve purchased from Remarle.

Horray for Shea!

Hooray for Shea!

Shea butter is extracted from the nut of the shea tree (Vitellaria paradoxa) in West Africa. High levels of natural anti-oxidants (A and E) and essential fatty acids (from stearic acid and oleic acid) found within the nut’s buttery contents have proven extremely effective for moisturizing and repairing damaged skin. Shea Butter works because it is able to penetrate the epidermis and provide a protective layer which traps water and keep the skin hydrated and protected from allergens.

Shea butter’s healing qualities include:

  • Relieving Dry skin caused by Eczema, Psoriasis, and Dandruff
  • Soothing Sun Burn
  • Reducing the appearance of stretch marks, scars and fine lines

 Shea Butter also has Antimicrobial (used against bacteria and antifungals) and Anti-inflammatory properties

Did you ever wonder why the skin care product you were using stopped working?

My girlfriend and I discovered this issue years ago.  We thought that maybe the formula changed, but really it was our body just telling us that it was time to change products. Once we switch to another product (which we discovered was not an easy solution to find something new that worked), our skin responded again.

I also had this discussion with Julie Block, President & CEO of the National Eczema Association.  In our discussion we talked about the need to have two regimens for our skin in our personal care tool box because our skin gets use to a product after a while. She reminded me to tell eczema suffers this fact and once a product stops working to go back to the product that worked previously.  It is not that the product that does not work or will never work again, it just that our bodies have gotten used to the product, or so we Julie and I think.

The fact that the same thing happens with Antibiotics kept coming to the forefront of my thoughts because with antibiotics, our bodies become resistant to the drugs due to bacteria change. [1]

So I did a comprehensive search online for any clinical trials that may have been completed, scoured the American Academy of Dermatology website, and many Google search words.

In my search I finally came across this website:

http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/news/20090528/human-skin-alive-with-bacteria

It stated that “Your skin is crawling with hundreds of kinds of bacteria, NIH researchers find.”

So could it be that our external skin responds the same way to personal care products as our internal body responds to antibiotics?

I would love to know your thoughts or if you have any clinical data that may help solve this mystery.   Please tweet me, leave a comment on my Facebook page, or comment here on my blog.

Have a fantastic day!  Renee

What is “Black Soap”?

What is Black Soap?

Genuine Organic African Black soap, Ghana Africa, and is a Fair Trade Federation product.

It helps relieve rashes, scalp irritations, oily skin, dry skin, acne prone skin, blemishes, eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis.  It is not oily, and can be used for hands, face, body and hair.

It can be used by any ethnicity and for men or women and used on every age, from newborn babies to the elderly. It has a delicate texture and a natural, earthy smell.

Remarle ® adds Shea Butter and Coconut Oil for moisture.

Ghana, Africa

The Republic of Ghana, is a country located in West Africa.

The genuine product is made by first burning leaves and barks of a variety of tress and includes banana tree leaves, plantain skins, palm tree leaves and cocoa pods among others in a big vat.

The ash residue is then mixed with water and filtered out. To this mixture, ingredients like coconut, palm and palm kernel oils, shea butter and cocoa butter are added to make the soap.

Main Ingredients:

The soap is traditionally prepared from the ash of locally planted and harvested plants and barks of certain trees. Barks of plantains, Shea trees, palm tree leaves, and coco pods are used in this process. People believe that the organic black soap will be black in color. However, it is not necessary to be in black color and it comes in different colors depending on the region of preparation.

Organic black soap contains the following:

* Water
* Bark of the Shea butter tree
* Leaves of palm tree
* Leaves of banana tree
* Pods of coco plant
* Leaves of plantain plant
* Hemp seed
* Shea nuts
* Olive
* Coconut
* Palm
* Kernel

There are no added preservatives.

How is it prepared?

A typical organic soap is prepared in the following procedure. The bark and leaves of various plants and plantain are shredded and put in to a kettle or a metal container and heated till it becomes ash. Water has to be added in the process and mix it with ash. The resulting mixture is poured through a filter that will not allow the passage of larger particulate matter. This filtered water is mixed in the right proportion with oil or shea butter to create the organic black soap. There are no machines involved in this entire procedure. Women do this work effectively which would take about a day to complete the entire procedure. After this process, the soap should be left untouched for about 2 weeks without any disturbance.
